We wish Primož a speedy recovery and Franco many more successful operations.During his stay at the clinic, Franc presented Roglič with the Slovenian Cycling Route of Jacob, handed him the Slovenian Cycling Route guidebook and some promotional articles of the association, and emphasized that the members of the association are his loyal fans. He also introduced him to the fact that the Spanish Camino, as it is called the path of St. Jakob in Spain, connects Jakob's cycling pilgrims with him as a three-time Vuelta winner. The year 2021 was declared the year of St. James, because July 25, when the patron saint of Spain, the apostle St. James the Elder, came on Sunday. At that time, the prestigious cycling race across Spain ends in front of the Basilica of St. James in Santiago de Compostela (it traditionally ends in Madrid). Thus, last year's Vuelta winner Primož Roglič was dressed by the organizers of the race in typical pilgrim clothing at the award ceremony: a brown cape with a wide-brimmed hat with a capesant shell on it, and a travel stick with a shell and a gourd, which was once used by pilgrims to store water. Thus, for a few moments, Primož was a real cycling pilgrim of Jacob, as the members of the Jacob's cycling association are called, as many of us members also cycled along the Spanish Camino to Santiago de Compostela.
